Suicide Squad Deleted Scenes – No Director’s Cut In Preparation? [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Will Smith, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Margot Robbie talked about of their favorite scenes that didn’t make into the final cut in Suicide Squad.

Despite the critics hammering down Suicide Squad and also going against other three completely different, high-profile projects last weekend, Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad still succeeded to stay on top at the box office for its third straight frame. It seems probable that this supremacy will come to an end this weekend, but the movie still fared quite well, raking $264.5 million domestically and $313 million internationally for a worldwide box office total of $577.5 million from a $175 million budget. As it is usual with every big Hollywood flicks these days, several scenes that were filmed didn’t make the final cut, and in latest international interviews, the cast of this DC Comics adaptation exposed their favorite scenes that didn’t get past the cutting room floor.

MTV put a new video together from an international Suicide Squad press trip, where Will Smith (Deadshot) and Jay Hernandez (El Diablo) teased that their favorite was the “love scene” between Deadshot (Will Smith) and Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), which Will Smith said to be “awkward.” Margot Robbie revealed that she had to learn “a very wicked dance” during the club scene, with Cara Delevingne revealing how good that scene really was. Jai Courtney also shed light on a scene where Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) threw him through a “huge stack of plastic containers,” which Karen Fukuhara said was “intense.” Here’s what Jared Leto had to say about these scenes that will hopefully “see the light of day” soon.

“We experimented a lot, so there’s a lot of material that will probably see the light of day at some point, I would think. I think we could fill an entire DVD with the amount of deleted scenes. There are a lot of surprises, and, with that, a lot of mistakes, so I think a lot of fun accidents too.”

Weirdly, all of these scenes, and many more, are at the heart of a “lawsuit” which was filed by a Reddit user over “false advertisement” regarding The Joker. This anonymous person pinpointed several scenes with The Joker that were featured in the trailers, clips and other promotional material, but wasn’t seen in the theatrical cut itself. We’ll have to wait and see if this supposed lawsuit actually moves forward or not.

While there will certainly be plenty of deleted scenes, director David Ayer told there will be no “director’s cut” because the theatrical version represents his “director’s cut.” There was also a detailed rundown of 22 deleted scenes that were teased in the marketing but ultimately take out of the theatrical cut, which may or may not re-appear on the Blu-ray and DVD release. Take a look at this video below with the stars of Suicide Squad revealing their favorite deleted scenes.
