CD Projekt RED reacted to the rumors, regarding the hostile takeover.
A week ago, we wrote about how rumors say that the Polish company is preparing for the worst scenario despite the rousing success of The Witcher franchise. However, the Poles are following the Internet, and they decided to release a statement.
„As for the rumor, it emerged after the Board suggested introducing a voting cap during the upcoming shareholder meeting. However, the proposal is not a reaction to any current events affecting CD PROJEKT. Rather, it is meant as insurance against hypothetical future scenarios which may never materialize.
We wish to safeguard the interests of minority shareholders in a hypothetical case where a major shareholder emerges professing a business and strategic vision which conflicts with ours.”
What they say is that there is no danger. They just seem to be inspired by the Ubisoft-Vivendi situation. Despite Vivendi stating that they don’t plan to pull a hostile takeover on Ubisoft, they bought more stocks, meaning that they have 24% of the shares in the French company.
