System Shock Remake Isn’t Coming Out In 2017

Our „delayed games” topic expands with another subject.

The System Shock remake had a successful Kickstarter campaign, but Nightdive Studios will not make it available by the end of 2017, according to the devs’ monthly update.

The post says, „Our goal is to launch on PC/Mac/Linux/Xbox One/PS4 by Q2 of 2018. Not sure if it will be a simultaneous launch, but we’ll do our best.” The specific word usage opens a possibility of making the game available on some platforms (PC and Xbox One is likely, going by the previous news regarding System Shock‘s remake). The game is going to get an expanded story due to one of the reached stretched goals, and it might also play a role in the delay to 2018 as well.

Good work needs time, and Shodan deserves to participate in a decent remake.
