Capcom Expecting The Impossible From Resident Evil 7

Capcom laid down a significant number for the sales expectations regarding Resident Evil 7.

Four million sales. If it was by April 1, then selling that many copies in a bit more than two months seem real, but that is not the case! Capcom‘s EMEA marketing director, Antoine Molant told MCV that Capcom expects to get four million sales ON LAUNCH DAY. Molant says that current trends and pre-order figures make it possible to reach this target.

However, it’s just impossible. Even Halo 3 got only 3.3 million, and although Grand Theft Auto V got to 29 million according to VGSales, both of these numbers show game sales IN ONE MONTH, as they are NPD sales data in North America.

If even a Halo game could not reach this impressive goal, what does Capcom think that they can do it with Resident Evil 7, out on January 24 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC?
