One of CNN’s reports in the last days of 2016 had some irrelevant footage.

On December 30, the news channel has aired a report about Russian hacker attacks, but for a few seconds, they used some footage that had close to zero relevance to the subject: for about three seconds, CNN showed clips of a Fallout game.

However, during yesterday, Kotaku revealed via a reader that the footage isn’t from Fallout 3, but a Flash game instead. Mitchell Thompson’s project was based on Fallout‘s terminal hacking minigame, and it surfaced on the internet about four years ago.

Still, perhaps the channel should make the footage seen by a younger editorial audience before it gets aired because older people can have potentially smaller knowledge in gaming.
