Rumor: The Switch Might Get A Prev-Gen Port Of FIFA

The portable football might not get a recent build on the upcoming Nintendo hardware if we can believe the rumors.

Tom Phillips, one of the journalists at Eurogamer, has said on Twitter that the FIFA game (which gets no numbering, which probably means EA is only preparing a single title) on the Switch might be built on the PlayStation 3/X360 version. That means the new platform could receive ports from a decade old hardware, which still receives those FIFA games annually.

Peter Moore, COO of Electronic Arts, has responded to this rumor with a quote: „…the FIFA experience CUSTOM BUILT for Nintendo Switch…” This term was used by Patrick Söderlund, the boss of EA as well during the Switch-presentation while not showing even a single screenshot of the game that doesn’t even have a release window outside 2017 yet.

Phillips has a point: only one EA game was announced for the Switch. There’s a high chance that this publisher will not support Nintendo in the long run. Remember, FIFA 13 was no more than 12 with touch screen capabilities.
