DigitalFoundry has begun analyzing Guerrilla Games’ seemingly amazing title.
It turns out that the day-1 patch, which will be weighing a measly 250 megabytes, will bring a Performance mode. On the NeoGAF forums, we read that for the 1080p resolution, Horizon Zero Dawn will provide a much more stable frame rate on PlayStation 4 Pro, and it’s going to be working on 1080p televisions as well.
DigitalFoundry also labeled it no more than the best 4K release so far. It’s no mean feat, and if we add that both the ordinary PlayStation 4 and the PS4 Pro has a stable 30 frames per second, their comment makes much more sense. Sure, it drops here and there, but it happens on both consoles in the same locations, and they are not substantial frame drops.
On the PS4 Pro, if you choose 1080p instead of the checkerboard 4K resolution, the graphical details will shift to a higher gear. If you stick to the 4K, you will probably notice the anisotropic filtering and the higher texture resolution.
Horizon Zero Dawn will launch on February 28, as a PlayStation 4-exclusive.
