PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Could It Get A Movie Adaptation?

PUBG Corp.’s CEO Chang Ham Kim’s comment sounds a little too farfetched at first sight.

In his interview with Inven Global, Chang Ham Kim said the following: „I’d like PUBG to become a universal media franchise based on the game. We want to take part in diverse industries including eSports, movies, drama, cartoons, animation, and more,” he said. “In fact, we received a couple of love calls from some developers in Hollywood and Netflix. Our dream is to build a new game-based culture through various ways like this, and have the lead of that culture.”

The game has no story whatsoever, but it’s based on mods that were inspired by a Japanese movie made in 2000 called Battle Royale, which in turn was based on a 1999 novel – with a few corners, we could get to a cinematic adaptation.

However, a PUBG movie would be extreme… and there’s also the risk of it flopping altogether.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
