Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Getting An Art Book!

Rockstar‘s plans were leaked.

On Amazon, a listing surfaced, which originally listed it as an unnamed product handled by Random House (known for their work in similar subjects for Mario and Jurassic Park) with an October 30 release date.

So far, so good, but the description clearly named that the product is The Art of Red Dead Redemption 2, which would be „the official visual companion to Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated game release, and is a peek behind the curtain of Rockstar Games and its intensely guarded approach to the creation of the lush, Old West open-world gameplay.” (The description was deleted since, and RockstarINTEL confirmed via Amazon that the listing isn’t fake.)

The leak is surprising as it would be the first time for a Rockstar game to ever receive an art book, which would contain „storyboards and behind-the-scenes inner workings of the game’s creation, with a mix of detailed original art, concept, story, and character studies, sketches, and actual screengrabs of the result that led to the creation of this spectacular game!” Not even the highly popular Grand Theft Auto V got something similar, which now seems like a missed opportunity for Rockstar.

Unless Rockstar delays it once again, Red Dead Redemption 2 will launch on October 26 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the art book would launch on October 30 for 30 bucks or so with postage.
