The team of NPD also named 10 games softwares that they think will be the most successful financially this year.

NPD’s analytics team – which is specialized on hardware and software sales – made some public predictions about what they think will be the most succesful products this year in the world of gaming.

Mat Piscaleta, leader of the team said that Nintendo Switch will dominate the hardware sales this year in the USA – it will be the most successful console in 2018 – however he also stated that the Xbox One will see a big jump in sales that was last seen in 2010 with the Xbox 360. He expects the PlayStation 4 to sell well too, but he thinks that it’s time for the Switch to shine – previously the PS4 was the top-selling console every time.

Then Piscaleta also talked a little bit about software sales as well and in his opinion the clear winner will be Red Dead: Redemption 2. It’s not hard to believe that he will be right judging by the hype around the game and the fact that Rockstar’s previous game, GTAV sold more than 95 million copies.

According to NPD, these are the games that will sell the most copies in 2018:
