The game, which has a Companion App, has references to a potential PC version in its strings, parameters, and functions.
BlackScout on the GTAForums posted about how Red Dead Redemption 2‘s Companion App has several hints at a possible PC version of the game. We’re not going to copy the strings, but we can tell you what Rockstar‘s application references: aside from the low/medium/high/ultra/custom/special graphical presets, detailed graphical settings are also mentioned, which wouldn’t be surprising after Grand Theft Auto V’s PC port. Also, NVidia’s TXAA technology, which is PC-exclusive, is also in the list… could it be a coincidence? There’s also a mention of Oculus in the strings… is Rockstar planning VR-support, too?!
It’s possible that Rockstar is asking for time once again to provide a proper PC port for the game – even Grand Theft Auto V on PC came out roughly half a year after the PlayStation 4/Xbox One port, but since the devs didn’t talk about these findings yet, Red Dead Redemption 2‘s PC port isn’t official yet.
…but what about the first game?
