David Jaffe Has Gone Too Far With Those Who Criticized Beyond Good & Evil 2!

However, now, the man who played an essential role in creating Twisted Metal and the original God of War is angry at other people.

First, he called those who criticised Beyond Good & Evil 2 for requiring a constant Internet connection „entitled babies” on Twitter. He talked about other things as well on his Twitch stream. Later, he commented that the second half of his tweet didn’t get to people.

David Jaffe followed up with other tweets, which we will quote. „Regarding my take on Beyond Good Evil 2 internet response: to be fair/clear, I’m just taking the piss. I respect folks may be upset it’s not the game they thought it would be. The one thing I believe Ubisoft SHOULD do is change the name cause it AIN’T Beyond Good & Evil 2. That’s misleading, BUT I also think gamers in 2018 acting surprised that games from most major 3rd party publisher are Games-as-a-Service/always online are either gullible and/or naive. That’s all those types of companies make these days and to act like you thought BGE2 was going to be an old school. A PS2-era single player game? I mean, I get that you want that, but when was the last time Ubisoft made that sort of title? And why WOULD they? Have you SEEN the money they make (and all other 3rd party pubs) are making off the open world, internet connected, GaAs titles?!? Maybe the people you should be mad at are your fellow gamers that vote with their wallets and are telling the publishers OVER AND OVER, and YEAR AFTER YEAR that those are EXACTLY the sorts of games they DO want.

So I apologise if the term ‘entitled’ rubbed some of you the wrong way; that may not have been- hell, it simply wasn’t- the proper term. You have every right to want a proper BGE2 sequel. I respect that, and that’s not entitled. And you have every right to be upset at Ubisoft if they lead you on to think that this game (which I do happen to think looks AMAZING AS F_CK!) was going to be a proper Beyond Good & Evil sequel. I’d be pissed too, even if I did (and do) think what they’ve shown looks cool.”

Later, in another tweet, he responded to someone else, correcting him: „You are wrong. Do your research. It’s not a solo game. One of the coolest things is you can explore this massive sci-fi world with friends. It’s like co-op Star Wars. I appreciate that may not be Beyond Good & Evil 2 (genuinely, I do), but I think it sounds fantastic!”

Jaffe has previously attacked AAA games, and he didn’t say something dumb there either. He seems to have a different view on gaming, and that’s fair.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
