The president of Nvidia attacks the Radeon VII

TECH NEWS – “It has a mediocre performance and does not bring anything new.”

The president of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, in an interview with PC World and other media, has spoken openly about his views on the AMD Radeon VII. Huang has once again shown that he has no hairs on the tongue and has evaluated the graphics as “disappointing”. It is not the first time that it encourages criticizing the competition, and added that “it has a mediocre performance and does not bring anything new […], it does not have raytracing or AI. They are 7 nm with HBM memory but can not hold the type at 2080. If we activate DLSS we leave it on the floor, and if we activate the raytracing, too “.

These last two details are taken for granted because rendering a game with half the pixels and scaling it by DLSS increases performance. As for ray tracing, we could not consider it a valid argument either, because except for the RTX, no card has that functionality yet (apart from the fact that the only game with current RTX is Battlefield V), since to emulate that technology by force, without dedicated cores, is five or 10 times more complicated at a computational level. Where he has put his finger on the wound is in the performance.

Today we have echoed the new comparisons of the Radeon VII, and 25 games tested in both the Radeon Vega 64 and the VII, the average improvement is 28% faster. AMD wants the results to be the most striking, and that’s why it has done the 4K tests and with the graphic options to the maximum, to highlight the greater bandwidth of the VRAM. What do you think about the words of Jensen Huang? Do you think AMD is doing well with the Radeon VII?
