The Swedish developers’ unreleased game is going to be playable on a console, giving us almost the same experience as if it was released in 1994…
Analogue announced that their upcoming console, Mega SG (which will support Genesis/Mega Drive, Master System, Game Gear, Mark III, MyCard, SG-1000, and SC-3000 games; have a port for SEGA CD / Mega CD; 1080p HDMI, 48kHZ/16 bit audio; out in April for 190 dollars) will have a bonus game, which will be built into the console that seems to be promising for retro gamers that prefer QUALITY and use their old cartridge collection instead of emulation.
DICE (previously known as Digital Illusions) had a Contra-like game for the Mega Drive/Genesis called Hardcore whose source code was found. We wrote about it, as well as its release this year. It will be part of the Mega SG, although under the name Ultracore due to legal issues. The contents of the game will be the same, though. It’s a nice piece of history from the makers of Battlefield.
It’s a great extra, but we have yet to see how successful the Mega SG will be. Have a look at the game:

We’re stoked to announce that every Mega Sg includes an unreleased Sega Genesis game. The only known source code of the game was stored on a dead hard drive that was *barely* recovered. pic.twitter.com/ATcZxn50Ix
