Nintendo Might Be Developing A Surprising Device!

What Nintendo‘s president has said before might not be a joke – if this rumour is true, then the Japanese company might go to another direction.

Previously, we wrote about how Nintendo might not be sure about staying on the desktop console market. WCCFTech‘s article about a recent rumour, coming from Taiwanese industrial sources, underlines this statement. If this is true, then Nintendo might reconsider staying away from the smartphone market.

In other words, Nintendo might be making a GAMING PHONE, and it would be developed in tandem with the Nintendo Switch, allowing easy porting between the two devices, and since the big N is mainly into game development unlike other manufacturers (such as Apple or Razer), they are capable of shaping their games to the platform, if the company does end up taking this turn.

However, let us not forget that this decision might make Nintendo focus on middle-tier devices, as making a top-tier device could be taking resources away from other platforms. (They could make a strong phone with a possible 2021-2022 launch, but it might harm the Nintendo Switch, and who knows if the Nintendo 3DS will be still around by then…)

Of course, we don’t know any technical details about the rumoured Nintenphone (it could be a fitting name, right?), so let’s wait until we consider it seriously – the possibility to make the switch is there, but it could be a tough turn: the Xbox and the PlayStation might go towards streaming (as with the Google Stadia), while Nintendo‘s focus could be on portable gaming…
