Subverse: Hentai Mass Effect, And There’s Demand For It! [VIDEO]

It’s no joke – Studio FOW‘s game is clearly inspired by Mass Effect, but with a… mature approach.

Studio FOW is already infamous for making CG porn with video game characters, and now they went a step further, as they want to make a video game, which, going by their definition, would be a „tactical RPG/shoot’em up hybrid.” It’s called Subverse.

Subverse is already has a Kickstarter campaign going, and the base goal was hit a long time ago. They wanted roughly 130 thousand dollars, but at the moment, they have 1.21 million – the devs have nearly ten times as much cash as they originally wanted to get by crowdfunding. Thus, there are several stretch goals, and only one isn’t hit yet (this final goal is just merely 80 thousand dollars away, and there’s still nine days left to get it…). The stretch goals had a manga, extra animations, loyalty missions (we said Mass Effect for a good reason!), complete voice acting, more chapters, and the like.

Subverse would be „at least twenty hours” long, with two different combat systems: one of them would be arcade-like ship combat, the other one would be strategic grid-based squad combats. (Think of the Super Robot Wars series or Final Fantasy Tactics…) There would be nine waifus (let’s just say, special characters for us…?), and PCGamer says Studio FOW has used this word fifteen times on the Kickstarter page.

It does show something positive elsewhere, too: it shows that there is demand for a new Mass Effect. BioWare knows about it (and they said previously they are making something secret related to it), but who knows how it would turn out after what we learned about Anthem and Dragon Age 4…?

However, the devs might have to change the name of the game, as Tim Pool, a political commentator, YouTuber and journalist (who livestreamed the Occupy Wall Street protests in 2011), happens to have a website called subverse.net
