Days Gone: The 1.06 Patch Is Crashing!

After the 1.05 patch, we already have the 1.06 one, but unfortunately, it’s not that good for Days Gone, developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Bend Studio…

The 1.06 patch only mentions bugfixes in its patch notes (the 1.05 has fixed more – we previously wrote about it in detail), but unfortunately, it brought more than that with it. There’s some discussion on Reddit, which goes into how risky it is to install the patch, as it can lock your console up!

Not all users are affected by the newest Days Gone bug (and it seems you can never have enough of bugs, including a great audio glitch, remember?), as only the PlayStation 4 Pro-owners seem to get this crash. A few users reported locking up always at the same location, while others got even more unfortunate, as they cannot even reach the title screen since the 1.06 patch! It’s getting ridiculous, especially from a major PlayStation 4-exclusive – we cannot say anything else at this point!

PushSquare has a few comments that we’ll quote: „Did they get Bioware to update this game? Or was it a partnership with Bethesda?”, „Yikes… I think this game needed another few months in the oven. Had a glitch yesterday that prevented me from acquiring melee weapons until I restarted the game.”, „Patch 1.06: Game gone”, „It is due to incompetence on the part of the developers. This game was destined to be buggy no matter how long it was in the oven. Also, a possible reason for this is that they chose to use the Unreal Engine [4] rather than a proprietary Sony engine, which would have given bend a lot more internal support should they have required it. No idea why they went with Unreal… it is the first time I have ever seen Sony use a 3rd party engine… just why?”

The last question says it all…
