Nintendo Switch Lite officially announced with price, specifications and release date [VIDEO]

Nintendo is committed to a console exclusively portable, smaller and with traditional crosshead.

It was an open secret that has already become a reality. Nintendo has officially confirmed the existence of a Nintendo Switch Mini that had been rumored for a long, long time, and which responds to the name of Nintendo Switch Lite.

The new platform is committed to an exclusively portable model which means that it will not be possible to connect it to the television as it is the case with the original version of Nintendo Switch. Release date? Those from Kyoto have announced that Nintendo Switch Lite will be released on September 20 in three different colors: yellow, grey and turquoise. “A set with a cover and screen protector from Nintendo Switch Lite will also be available,” reports the Japanese firm, which sets its price at $ 200.

One of the most interesting aspects of the platform is that Nintendo Switch Lite has the integrated controls, with a traditional crosshead, and is somewhat smaller than the original version of Nintendo Switch. “It has no support and, as a device focused on the portable game, can not connect to the TV”, warn in its official statement. Therefore, it does not include a base or HDMI cable.

The screen of Nintendo Switch Lite is 5.5 inches and offers a resolution of 720p compared to 6.2 inches of the original. As for the battery, more important if possible, taking into account that entirely committed to the portable mode, it will be more efficient with an increase in its range of between 20 and 30per cent. The heat sink located at the top of the console will also be smaller, which helps the machine to be slightly smaller than the original switch.

Of course, Nintendo Switch Lite is compatible with all video games of the hybrid console although some will have restrictions. This is the case of 1.2, Switch, which will require additional Joy-Con controls to take advantage of its motion control. “If a game is compatible with Joy-Con functions, such as HD vibration, infrared motion camera and motion sensors, certain features of the game will not be available if only the Nintendo Switch Lite is used”, stand out in its official website.
