An Age Of Empires Announcement Happens Tomorrow

Microsoft is preparing an announcement regarding Age of Empires.

Microsoft will have an event at Gamescom. It is called Inside Xbox. It will start at 5 PM on August 19, CEST. (8 AM Pacific, 11 AM Eastern.) It will be broadcasted on Twitch, Mixer, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. On Twitter, the official account of Age of Empires is teasing that an announcement will happen tomorrow regarding the franchise. No details were mentioned, so if you are interested, you have to tune in tomorrow on one of the aforementioned platforms and social media.

Age of Empires IV is developed by Relic Entertainment. Previously, they made the following games (not in order): Homeworld 1 and 2, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War-series, Company of Heroes 1 and 2, Impossible Creatures, The Outfit, and Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Aside from the latter two (which are a TPS and an FPS), the games are either tactical turn-based or real-time strategy titles. The game has no release date yet. It was announced on August 2017, two years ago, at Gamescom – we’re not even including the announcement video, as it only contains concept artwork and nothing else.

Meanwhile, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will launch this fall. Its original came out in 1999. It will have 4K resolution, remastered audio, and a new campaign called The Last Khans. Aside from these two games, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition could be announced. The original of it came out in 2005. Adam Isgreen, the franchise’s creative director previously talked about its possibility to PCGamesN.

So during Gamescom, which is held in Cologne, Germany, and is usually called the European E3, Microsoft will reveal something about the series tomorrow. We will see soon what they have in store for us.
