CliffyB Would Work On A Game After All

After swearing off working on video games once and for all, CliffyB would still like to return to make games, albeit on a much smaller scale than before.

CliffyB was previously known for the Gears of War series, but he became independent from Epic Games, which was followed by making a team-based FPS called LawBreakers – however, it didn’t get much attention in the shadow of Overwatch, resulting in a flop. Then, as a last resort, he began working on a battle royale game, but even Radical Heights did not get far either. Then, Bleszinski decided to depart the gaming industry in favour of Broadway, and yet, he seems to have an idea or two…

„Ugh. Guys, I kinda have a game idea, and it won’t get out of my head. I thought I was truly done [with making games], but then, the stupid brain shows up. Ugh. AND NO, IT’S NOT A F___ING BATTLE ROYALE,” Bleszinski wrote on Twitter. Later, he slightly clarified his ideas: „OK, to clarify, I have some ideas gestating, but if I did something it’d be small and most likely done remotely. Indie stuff. Right now, the focus is on the memoir – the deal-making process has been kinda painful, but we’re close to signing with a major publisher.”

So Bleszinski still hasn’t completely left making games behind. A reply told him to start small without stress and grow from there, which is a good idea if you think about it. If it’s not an AAA title, there’s no stress, and it could be a passion project. Let’s not go into genres, release windows, or target platforms – the idea is only in his head for now.

If he’s smart, he’d go to Microsoft to make it available on the Xbox Game Pass so that players could access it cheaply… but who knows? (Remember: LawBreakers was available on PlayStation 4 and PC, but not on the Xbox One.)

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
