Telltale Games Comes Back to Life With Plans to Work on New Games

A new company has taken over the study responsible for the adventures of The Walking Dead: Telltale Games.

Not a year has passed since the announcement of the bankruptcy of Telltale Games shook the entire video game industry, and now it has just been made public that Telltale comes back to life from a company called LCG Entertainment, which has already confirmed that it will sell part of the catalogue of the company responsible for the adventures of The Walking Dead, but he will also work on new video games based on his best-known brands, and other completely original ones.

The new company of Telltale is formed by Jamie Ottilie and Brian Waddle, who have offered former employees of the studio to return to work as a freelance, but with the possibility of giving them a fixed job with a view the future. What licenses do they have in your portfolio? Ottilie, who has worked mainly in the world of mobile games, confirms that in his possession there are still licenses for games based on The Wolf Among Us and Batman, in addition to those that at the time I think of the study, as Puzzle Agent

“There are some licenses that have already expired and we are investigating,” he said. The new Telltale is very interested in continuing some of the stories right where they left. “We are still evaluating it, but we definitely want to continue some of the stories.” It does not seem that it will be the case of The Walking Dead, in the hands of Skybound.

There are other great brands that Telltale has worked on as Borderlands, Guardians of the Galaxy, Minecraft and Borderlands, but for now they have not specified whether or not they can work again with these licenses. As for the Telltale Stranger Things game, and that was obviously cancelled, the new management confirms that their rights are held by Netflix.

The new leaders of Telltale say they have opted for the company because they believe in the future of adventures. “This is a viable business that disappeared due to market conditions and some decisions made by the previous management,” said Ottilie. “I like games that tell stories and I think our industry should have a company specializing in narrative games,” he concludes.
