Doom Is Getting A Vodka!

Let’s hope that Bethesda doesn’t mess this up the Doom idea as they have done so with the Nuka Dark Rum for Fallout 76… (which wasn’t as bold as what Electronic Arts has done for the massively flopped Medal of Honor Warfighter – they teamed up with Magpul, a weapon manufacturing company)

Bethesda’s UK Twitter account announced that they entered a partnership with Rebel Distillers to make a Bone Vodka for Doom. According to this description, „the vodka is made from a wheat spirit base. Once the beef bones have been roasted and smoked, the marrow is extracted and macerated in neutral grain alcohol. The spirit is then distilled at a low temperature in a vacuum still. The resulting liquid is said to have a “dry, earthy start” on the palate, leading to an “umami and buttery feel on the tongue”, and “smoky, peppery” finish.” Rebel Distillers says that this drink is the „world-first vodka, using bones sourced from world-famous butchers The Ginger Pig.”

„We’re tapping into one of the world’s favourite hobbies, video games, to offer a unique perspective in spirit production. Doom Eternal is a world of flames and demons, a barbecue pit with action—a smoked bone vodka is certainly a new take on spirit provenance,” Rebel Distillers co-founder Matt McGivern said.

You can already pre-order the 700 ml bottled drink, if you are from the United Kingdom, the European Union, or Australia, by clicking here. The price is 45 GBP, about 55 USD, but you have to consider the shipping costs as well. The shipping should begin by the end of September.

Hopefully, this product will not arrive at those who order it after the game’s launch – Doom Eternal is out on November 22 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with a Google Stadia port also happening -, but we’ll see.
