Grounded: Obsidian’s Game Will Be „In The Oven” For A Year [VIDEO]

GroundedObsidian, which is now part of Xbox Game Studios, had its next game show up on Steam.

And it probably means that Microsoft doesn’t want to make it available just via Grounded, so the X019-announced third-person survival game will be easier to access, as let’s face it: Steam has more users than Microsoft Store (or Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Preview – these platforms have been confirmed before). In this game, we will be the size of an ant in our garden, which will now be far more dangerous than ever before.

„We want to make the best experience possible and putting an exact timeline on an early-in-development game is very challenging. That said, we also want to be transparent with our community, so we will give you our best guess with the understanding that these plans may change. The current target for Grounded’s full release is sometime in 2021. […] Some of the ideas and features may change dramatically based on the feedback we receive from the community. Our current plan for the full release is to have the following features: a complete storyline, Steam Achievements and Cards, more bugs (the insect kind), more environments and biomes, more crafting recipes, and additional features and updated systems to improve the entire experience.

At the start of Early Access, the following features/content will be available in Grounded: roughly 20% of the full storyline, 3 major biomes (the grasslands, the hedge, and the haze), crafting, base building, single and online co-op play, the first two tiers of weapons and armour, at least ten insects, plus an arachnophobia mode.

We also see the minimum system requirements, too:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • Operating system: Windows 7 (SP1)
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-3225 or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti or better
  • Storage: 8 GB available space

Grounded is in development for PC, Xbox One, and potentially Xbox Series X. If it leaves Early Access in 2021, then we can expect the consoles to get the retail version next year, too.
