Supermassive Games (whose Until Dawn was great on PlayStation 4) and Bandai Namco are serious about The Dark Pictures Anthology, which will not consist of a single title.

The Supermassive/Bandai Namco duo announced that the series’ second instalment, called Little Hope, will already be available this summer on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. „We’ve been delighted by the reaction from players and the success of Man of Medan as the first instalment of The Dark Pictures Anthology. We appreciate feedback from the community and the team remains committed to the goal of making each new instalment deliver further thrilling horror experiences, with the next chapter, Little Hope, bringing an all-new and disturbing horror story to the anthology,” said Supermassive Games CEO Pete Samuels in a press release.

Bandai Namco’s description also reveals that „Little Hope is the second game in The Dark Pictures Anthology. Trapped and isolated in the abandoned town of Little Hope, four college students and their professor must escape the nightmarish apparitions that relentlessly pursue them through an impenetrable fog. Witness terrifying visions of the past, haunted by the events of the XVIIth century Andover Witch Trials.” This is something that has indeed happened, so them saying „each new game is influenced by real-world events either fact, fiction or legend” is reasonable. As with Man of Medan, you can play Little Hope either solo, online with a friend, or offline with up to four friends by sharing the gamepad with them when it’s their turn. Since not everyone may get out alive, replayability will be a factor, too.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is out this summer on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The first game was alright, but the guys have done better in the past.
