Capcom – And no, Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil Resistance do not count as two games!
AestheticGamer has shown up in the news plenty of times recently – for example, he talked about Resident Evil 8 getting a reboot, as well as Konami planning not one but two Silent Hill games. Now, he wrote a few things about Capcom. In one tweet, he said this: „Time to break some hearts. [The Resident Evil:] Code Veronica remake is not in production right now. [It’s] not even [in] pre-production. A Dino Crisis game was started a few years ago, but then [it got] scrapped and buried, and the franchise, for now, is still extinct for the time being.” So it possibly means that a planned remake this fiscal year (starting on April 1 and ending in March 2021) with the RE Engine is not going to be for Dino Crisis.
In another tweet, he added: „[…] Capcom’s fiscal 2020 year is very impressive, there are four big titles they’re releasing, including two Resident Evil games (one is RE3). There’s also a fifth medium game but not on the same scale as the other four releases.” And in a reply, he confirmed that Resident Evil 3 Remake, and Resident Evil Resistance, which will launch in early April, are considered as a single title. It means there’s another Resident Evil game planned, and we might have mentioned it recently.
So the Japanese company has focused on the next-gen. The smaller game could be a Mega Man or a Mega Man X title, or anything else, as Capcom has a ton of IP. The bigger titles could include a new Street Fighter (as Street Fighter V launched four years ago), but the four projects could include a new Monster Hunter: World expansion or even Dragon’s Dogma could continue. There’s also Pragmata, a new IP. We’re merely guessing.
So Capcom has prepared for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X…
