DOOM Eternal: System Requirements And A Chorus [VIDEO]

DOOM Eternal – You’ll need a hefty computer to run this id Tech 7 engine-using game. Dejavu?

Let’s get right into the gist of it – the system requirements:

  • Minimum system requirements (1080P, 60 FPS, low settings):
  • Operating system: 64-bit Windows 7 or Windows 10 (Windows 8.1?)
  • CPU: Intel Core-i5 on 3.3 GHz, or AMD Ryzen 3 on 3.1 GHz, or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 (with 4 GB VRAM) or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 (4 GB), or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 470 (4 GB), or better
  • Free storage space to install: 50 GB

Recommended system requirements (1440P, 60 FPS, high settings):

  • Operating system: 64-bit Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X, or better
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 (with 8 GB VRAM) or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (8 GB), or AMD Radeon RX Vega56 (8 GB), or better
  • Free storage space to install: 50 GB

And – as it is never mentioned… – you’ll also need an Internet connection, as the game will have Denuvo DRM in the PC version, which will impact the performance due to its constant need to „call home”…

Let’s get into the soundtrack, too. We previously wrote about how they were looking for heavy metal singers. The result is here: more than twenty vocalists have teamed up for a creepy chant that is heard throughout the soundtrack. We got a behind-the-scenes video that showcases a few things, including the fact that the gender split is equal, and the styles are different, too. The chant is „pieced together from a mysterious and ancient language that harkens back to the Slayer’s origins.” Huh. Nice work on the soundtrack by Mick Gordon!

DOOM Eternal is out on March 20 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC. Pre-orderers will get DOOM 64 on this day, too. The Nintendo Switch port, handled by Panic Button, is coming at a later date.
