Crytek got into a tough situation last week… one of the companies that got targetted last week was them.
Last week, some (?) data was leaked from both Ubisoft and Crytek. About 700 GB. The latter company, according to this tweet, has internal documents that include such titles like Crysis Next, Crysis VR, Hunt Mobile, Ryse Next, Robinson 2. So they could plan a sequel to Crysis, Ryse, and Robinson, Hunt Showdown could get a mobile port, and Crysis might be also getting a virtual reality version.
According to the internal document, Crysis Next is „A free to play battle royale game where 100s of players collide in fast-paced combat. Visual customization, adaptive nanosuit powers, and visually spectacular combat in an immersive world create the ultimate live streaming experience. The Crysis franchise has all the features to make a battle royale stand out. The gameplay. The style and setting. High production value.” So Crysis Next would be aimed at the Twitch and the eSports community.
Unfortunately, no such details have been leaked of the aforementioned other titles, but it looks like Crytek is planning to re-release the other two Crysis games. Another tweet says that Crysis Remastered would have been released in February, but since it got delayed, the whole schedule has been pushed back. Crysis 2’s re-release would have followed in August, Crysis 3’s remaster would have followed in February 2021, and Crysis Collection, presumable containing all three games, would have launched in May 2021. Probably without multiplayer, but we’re guessing.
Keep in mind that nothing is official, as it all leaked out via this leak (which also includes Watch Dogs: Legion’s source code…), but it looks like Crytek has ideas, and the Yerli brothers will have to eventually confirm all this above.
