Gran Turismo 7: An Advertisement Reveals Its Launch Window [VIDEO]

It’s not even a randomly placed advertisement for Polyphony Digital‘s next title.

We knew about Gran Turismo 7‘s existence before it was officially announced by Sony – and no, we are not talking about Kazunori Yamauchi’s thoughts. The father of Gran Turismo has previously talked about what he’d like to see in the next-gen GT title. It seems to be some sort of continuity: we again learned something before we were supposed to. Now, the release window was prematurely announced, thanks to an advertisement.

GTPlanet talks about how the upcoming PlayStation 5 game got an advertisement. In case you don’t block ads (or can’t do it), we’re sorry, but at least this way, we earned that Sony wasn’t joking when they said that Gran Turismo 7 would arrive early in the PlayStation 5‘s life cycle. The advertisement showed up in Quebec.

Because of that, the advertisement is in French, and this time, it’s a good idea to read the fine print. The bottom left’s small text says „Sortie prévue pour la première moitié de 2021,” which means „Release planned for the first half of 2021.” So Gran Turismo 7 would arrive between January and June of 2021. Sounds reasonable.

„Stunning visuals: Marvel at rendering quality through ray tracing, with support for 4K, HDR, and a targeted 60 FPS frame rate. Fast loading: Go to race events quickly, gather in lobbies and receive friend invites extremely quickly with an ultra-high-speed SSD. Select from a huge variety of cars with no load times. Adaptive triggers: Feel the contrast in brake pedal weight at different sensitivity ranges, the vibrations from the ABS and variation in throttle pedal weight on different types of cars. Haptic feedback: Experience the feeling of your tires connecting with the road, and subtle bumps on the road surface. Tempest 3D AudioTech: Sense the position of other cars and drivers around you through sound. Hear clear 3D Audio positioning and spatial expression of depth and height in replays,” the press release about its key features read.

Gran Turismo 7 would thus come in the first half of 2021 on PlayStation 5. Someone at Sony will get a kick in the nether region for the early ad campaign, though.
