CD Projekt RED‘s game still has some stability issues, although the Polish team has likely not expected such a stress test from a user.
On Reddit, keyvisuals revealed what happened to him while playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a PlayStation 5. We see a small parking lot full of vehicles, and the user created a chain explosion, triggering every vehicle blowing up… up until the game decided to have enough and crash altogether. Since it’s on a PlayStation 5, it’s not even a question of not having a strong enough hardware… the game has a long way to improve with its stress testing, and this video is evidence.
PC users can also install a mod that helps to balance the game’s audio. In other words, this 11 GB mod on NexusMods helps to get the volume levels in one line throughout the game so that some scenes won’t be too loud, or other sounds won’t be barely audible. Sure, this fix doesn’t bring back the lost/missing audio files, but it’s still helping the experience. You can even grab the roughly 800 audio files from Google Drive. Sure, the combat audio remained loud, but Floyd2099’s mod is still considerable.
We previously wrote about how remote code execution was possible on PlayStation 4 and PC via mods’ DLL files or through save files. CD Projekt RED addressed the issue with the 1.12 hotfix, which is a meager 14 MB in size: „Hotfix 1.12 is now available on PC! This update addresses the vulnerability that could be used as part of remote code execution (including save files). It fixed a buffer overrun issue, and it removed/replaced non-ASLR DLLs,” CDPR wrote. We predicted the fix to arrive by the end of the week, and we were right.
At least this got fixed. Install 1.12 and you should be alright.
