Hitman III: The Previous Game’s Locations Are Still AWOL On PC

IO Interactive had a good idea, but its execution flopped – at least the Danish studio knows what to do.

The final instalment in the World of Assassination trilogy launched more than two weeks ago, and it already recuperated the development costs for IO Interactive, who this time self-published the game (and they likely got some extra cash from Tim Sweeney’s company for the Epic Games Store-exclusivity). But something is still missing: namely, the locations of Hitman II – despite the promises, Agent 47 is still waiting to revisit these places.

The PC users are in a bit more complex scenario, as Hitman II launched on Steam, but Hitman III is on the Epic Games Store. The latter platform made IO Interactive try to RE-sell the game to those who already had it on Steam with a big discount, but it didn’t help matters. Hitman III’s Known Issues page got recently updated with the issue.

„Whilst we’ve been busy launching Hitman III, we’ve also been working on the promised solution for allowing PC players to import locations that they already own into Hitman III on [the] Epic [Games Store]. We’ve got that solution worked out and it’s currently being tested and verified from all angles to make it as robust as possible. In terms of timing, it’s a case of sooner rather than later. Even with the longest estimates we’ve looked at, the solution will be fully rolled out before the end of February. We’ll keep you updated with the next steps,” IO wrote.

The page mentions three more issues: „Players are unable to reach full mastery in a location due to losing XP, but challenges still marked as complete after experiencing a server disconnect. – Status: Tracked. This issue is on our radar.”; „Players cannot access the Requiem Pack – Status: We’re aware and working on a solution.”; „Players are not awarded a trophy/achievement despite completing the requirements – Status: We’re tracking the ones that are reported to us and investigating a fix.”

What a patchy start on PC due to changing storefronts…
