Cyberpunk 2077: Taking The PlayStation Store By Storm (Again)

CD Projekt RED’s game wasn’t available for sale on the PlayStation Store for half a year, so it didn’t have much of a chance to stay up in the sales charts after its December launch.

Sony published on the PlayStation Blog the best-selling games in June on the PlayStation Store (not including physical game copies; Cyberpunk 2077 was only available that way for six months). We will first discuss the European PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 lists, followed by the North American duo (and we will keep the rest on the blog for you to read).

PlayStation 5 (Europe)

  1.         Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  2.         FIFA 21
  3.         Chivalry 2
  4.         Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  5.         It Takes Two
  6.         Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
  7.         Metro Exodus
  8.         Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  9.         Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
  10. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege

The first place was taken by Insomniac Games’ new title that launched in June. FIFA 21 being so high isn’t a surprise due to the Football European Championship, but Chivarly 2, another June launch, finishing this high is respectable, followed by another Insomniac game, Josef Fares’ successful co-op, and Respawn’s evidence of single-player titles not being daad, respectively.

PlayStation 4 (Europe)

  1.         Cyberpunk 2077
  2.         FIFA 21
  3.         Grand Theft Auto V
  4.         Minecraft
  5.         NBA 2K21
  6.         Red Dead Redemption 2
  7.         The Crew 2
  8.         CarX Drift Racing Online
  9.         Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  10. Gran Turismo Sport

There are a few surprises here (The Crew 2, but mostly CarX Drift Racing), but it shows that Cyberpunk 2077 has taken the lead without much problem, and the rest are the usual suspect titles. Football is still a strong thing.

PlayStation 5 (North America)

  1.         Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  2.         Chivalry 2
  3.         Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  4.         Guilty Gear -Strive-
  5.         Scarlet Nexus
  6.         Dark Alliance
  7.         NBA 2K21 Next Generation
  8.         FIFA 21
  9.         Mortal Kombat 11
  10. MLB The Show 21

Across the pond, FIFA only reached 8th place, allowing two Insomniac Games productions to take the roster. Guilty Gear: Strive’s result is surprisingly good, and even Scarlet Nexus hit the top ten.

PlayStation 4 (North America)

  1.         Cyberpunk 2077
  2.         Grand Theft Auto V
  3.         NBA 2K21
  4.         Minecraft
  5.         Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  6.         Chivalry 2
  7.         Rust Console Edition
  8.         MLB The Show 21
  9.         God of War
  10. Far Cry 5

And Cyberpunk 2077 took the North American lead as well, but Rust and God of War also brought some surprising results.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title.
