Far Cry 6 will have free next gen upgrade – Ubisoft confirm again

Far Cry 6 will have a free next-gen upgrade, and their official twitter account confirmed this.

Both the physical and the digital versions will be free to be upgraded from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series versions without any additional fees.

While the game is releasing nearly a year after the next-gen consoles were released, Ubisoft is sticking to their original marketing and supporting Smart Delivery on Xbox and the free upgrade on the PlayStation ecosystem.

This reiteration comes just a couple of days after Sony’s PR issues with Horizon Forbidden West, so it is a safe bet to say that Ubisoft just wanted to be sure that they are sticking to their original promise and not changing the deal.

Ubisoft wants a clean and smooth launch and has been firing on all cylinders for Far Cry 6’s marketing, including showing off the recent PC features  -(read about it here), and the Season Pass featuring old iconic villains from the previous games. So it is understandable why they would want to avoid any hiccups in their messaging this close to the game’s release.

Far Cry 6 is launching on Oc.7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia
