War Thunder gets a Giga update with more planes, more tanks and more maps!

The War Thunder “Direct Hit” update is packed with new content and is now free to play. So it’s time to get started for autumn!

Getting back into autumn is a lot less painful when big updates accompany it to our favourite games. Of course, we’re talking about War Thunder, Gaijin Entertainment’s popular war MMO, which is getting a “Direct Hit” update these days, packed with new features for action lovers. We’re talking dozens of testable planes, ships and land vehicles, new battlefields, visual effects and graphical enhancements that are now waiting for you in War Thunder.

The numbers speak for themselves. The Direct Hit update introduces 17 new or upgraded aircraft to the game, including the JA37C Jaktviggen and Saab J35A Draken fighters and an MMiG-27M with the game’s first guided bombs. A dozen new land vehicles will also be introduced, accompanied by an enhanced “Test Drive“, as well as 15 new warships, including the heavy cruiser USS Pittsburgh.

If trying out the new toys wasn’t enough, there will also be two new battlefields, from the barren plains of “Spaceport” to the city of “Wroclaw“. On top of all this, War Thunder’s latest update adds new visual effects and support for Nvidia DLSS 2.2, so you can get the most out of the game’s graphics. The model of the B-17 bomber has also been updated, with three times more polygons and four times larger textures.

All in all, War Thunder is more spectacular than ever, and with the new update, it offers more vehicles and tracks than ever before. If you’ve never tried Gaijin Entertainment’s F2P and MMO game back, know that you can now play War Thunder for free at this link and go into battle with the most iconic vehicles in the history of warfare on land, sea, and air.
