Phasmophobia Anniversary Update Adds Singleplayer Mode

Phasmophobia is one year old now, and the ghost hunting game just got a couple of neat upgrades with its Anniversary Update, which now includes single-player mode.

Phasmophobia is an online multiplayer ghost hunting game in which you go to abandoned spooky places with your friend and try to complete different objectives. Also, try to survive the ghosts that may not like you and your friends trying to collect such evidence, and they’ll break your neck if they catch you.

The game became popular last year after a number of streamers played the game during the Halloween period, and the COVID-19 lockdown also helped the game in terms of popularity. It has many great features such as VR support, location-based audio, plus audio distortion when you talk into your character’s walkietalkie.

With this anniversary update, the game can be played solo without connecting to servers, so players can avoid evil spirits alone. Furthermore, the journal has been overhauled and made easier to use, and now it allows players to cross off evidence found and change settings from its pages.

Updates to contracts will mean that the payout received for failing a level will be rewarded in terms of the level’s selected difficulty while failing a contract will now show you the type of ghost that was on the level. New fonts have also been added to the game for several languages with missing characters, and the VR mute button has been remapped as the pause button for all controllers.

As part of this update, the main menu has received a bit of a makeover and is now party themed. Hopefully, an even more significant update will be released for this year Halloween.
