GTA 5 Continues To Break All Records: Eight Years Later, 155 Million Copies Have Been Sold [VIDEO]

Red Dead Redemption 2 is also a success after GTA 5, with 39 million cumulative sales.

The never-ending story; the never-ending tale. You can call it whatever you want, but there’s one absolute truth: Grand Theft Auto V just won’t stop selling. Rockstar’s title recently marked a decade since its first announcement, and in the new financial report for the second quarter, Take-Two has announced the cumulative sales figures.

GTA 5 has sold 155 million copies, an absolutely dizzying number for a product that continues to do very well in stores today, eight years after its release two generations ago. In the period from July to September, the open world of Franklin, Michael, and Trevor has sold 5 million more copies.

The company has spoken of another record achieved, which joins a handful of previously surpassed marks, mostly related to its commercial success. The fifth numbered installment is the fastest game to reach 1 billion dollars in physical sales, even though it has not yet been released on PS5 and Xbox X|S Series.

Red Dead is also a success

On a smaller scale, but still another big news, Take-Two has also talked about Red Dead Redemption 2. The western released in 2018 already accumulates 39 million copies sold, and it seems that its online mode is working well and has the full confidence of Strauss Zelnick, CEO of the company, who recently spoke about its value along with that of GTA Online and NBA 2K.

Seen in this light, it seems logical that Rockstar continues without revealing anything in relation to GTA 6, and is even annoyed by the avalanche of requests from users. What they have announced is the arrival of the remastered trilogy of three iconic titles of the Grand Theft Auto saga. Of it, we have already seen a trailer with its improvements, as there is barely a week left for its release in digital format.
