Mercury Steam has once again demonstrated great talent within its ranks after signing an outstanding Metroid Dread for Nintendo Switch. So much so that they have become the first Spanish development team to be nominated for the main prize at The Game Awards. But its leaders are not resting on their laurels and are already working on an RPG of which they wanted to share the first details.

And the information given is not negligible. MercurySteam is working in collaboration with Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games, on a third-person role-playing adventure set in a dark fantasy world. Project Iron is codenamed Project Iron, will be multiplatform and has an investment of 27 million euros.

We are delighted to be working with MercurySteam, a renowned studio that over the years has created numerous phenomenal IPs – including their latest hit, Metroid Dread, in partnership with Nintendo,” said Raffi and Rami Galante, CEOs of Digital Bros. in a statement carried by VGC. “With the creative vision and talent of MercurySteam and the extensive experience of 505 Games, players can expect a high-quality, captivating and engaging game.”

Mercury Steam also has the fondly remembered Castlevania: Lords of Shadow to its credit, as well as its sequel and spin-off instalment for Nintendo 3DS.
