The news dump for The Last of Us HBO series continues, introducing the faces who will bring the characters from Naughty Dog’s video game to life. Expectations are high, especially since Neil Druckmann himself is involved as a writer and producer and is one of five directors on the series’ first season.

We already know the main cast, with Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Anna Torv will join them as Tess and Gabriel Luna as Tommy. The other actor who was thought to have been cast was Bill, who was to have been played by Con O’Neill, but Variety reports that the actor has reportedly withdrawn due to scheduling issues.

Nick Offerman will play the character of Bill

In the end, it will be Nick Offerman who will bring the grumpy Bill to life. The actor is best known for his role as Ron Swanson in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, which he played for seven seasons. As Joel’s daughter, Nico Parker, joins the cast, and Merle Dandridge will play Marlene.

Neil Druckmann left the director’s chair just over a month ago to return to Naughty Dog. The series is set to premiere in 2022.
