Forspoken: PS5 Graphics Wonder With 4K Mode, Ray Tracing And DualSense Support [VIDEO]

Forspoken will be available exclusively on PS5 for the first two years and will feature three graphical modes.

We already knew that Forspoken‘s story would involve a lot of creativity, and we’ve also been given some information about the fighting style. Now it’s time to find out how Forspoken will perform on PS5, as Square Enix will showcase a modern magical world through the console’s graphical quality and DualSense controller feel.

The following information is courtesy of Ungeek, which clarifies the graphical strategy that the developers of Forspoken intend to pursue on PS5. Accordingly, the game’s creative producer Raio Mitsuno has described that:

The game will have three graphical modes: performance, graphics and ray tracing mode.

This technique has already been seen in some next-gen titles.

Luminous Productions said that the performance mode would achieve 60 FPS in 2K (1440p), while the graphics mode will squeeze the console’s power in terms of image quality with 30 FPS and a resolution that reaches an impressive 4K. Add to this the ray tracing mode, and although the creative producer did not give a specific resolution or frame rate, he says that this technology will be used to enhance the title’s visuals.

In addition to the graphical features, Luminous Productions wants to ensure that the player is fully immersed in a magical universe that is as vivid as possible, so the game will use DualSense’s unique capabilities to convey the fantasy-like sensations. This will make magic feel more real than ever while engaging in spectacular combat.

“We really had included a lot of unique PlayStation 5 hardware features when we were developing this game,” says game director Takeshi Aramaki, “For example, using the adaptive triggers, we added tactile feedback when you’re using the different types of magic. We’ve got lots of different magic spells you can use in the game, and the planners and designers sat down and worked out how to differentiate the feedback you get from controller for each of the magic spells.”

All eyes are now on this fantastic adventure, as the trailer (see below) for The Game Awards 2021 left many gamers’ mouths agape. What’s more, Forspoken has once again confirmed its temporary exclusivity for PS5 consoles, so the development team is keen to harness the full power of the console.
