Sony has published a list of the most downloaded titles on the PlayStation Store in 2021
As 2021 continues to be the talk of the town as we begin 2022, many of us are looking back and saying goodbye for the last time to a year filled with all sorts of news related to our favourite hobby and a lot of great games.
Sony also wanted to look back on what 2021 gave us and has just published a complete list of the most downloaded games from the PlayStation Store for both PS5 and PS4 and splitting the ranking between the US and European regions and having categories for free-to-play and virtual reality titles.
Focusing on Europe, on PlayStation 5, the big winner was FIFA 22, followed by Call of Duty: Vanguard and with FIFA 21 in third place, while on PS4, the top spot also went to FIFA 22, joined on the podium by GTA V and Minecraft. If we go to the United States, the PS5 TOP 3 is made up of NBA 2K22, Call of Duty Vanguard and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, while the PS4 TOP 3 is made up of GTA V, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Minecraft.

In the free-to-play category, adding PS4 and PS5 downloads, we have Fortnite first, with Rocket League in second place and Call of Duty: Warzone in third. Also, surprisingly, the eFootball 2022 beta, despite all its problems, is in fourth place ahead of giants such as Genshin Impact and Apex Legends.
On the other hand, in the ranking of PS VR games, Beat Sabre takes the winning position with Job SImulator in second place and Superhot VR in third.
