Garfield Will Have Three New Video Games Featuring The Iconic Cat

Microids has agreed to produce new titles for Garfield, who is featured in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Many of you will remember Garfield, one of the fictional characters who will be 44 years old in 2022 since he first appeared in Jim Davis’ comic strips. The bulky orange cat became even better known for his move to animation. In video games, he has also starred in several titles, as well as being available as a wrestler on Nickelodeon’s All-Star Brawl.

But those who want to keep seeing the famous lasagna feline on their consoles are in for a treat: Microids has agreed to produce three games, it has officially announced. The French publisher’s deal with ViacomCBS will bring three new adventures, spanning different video game genres over the next few years.

“We are delighted with this new agreement,” said Alain Milly, editorial director of Microids. “Garfield is a well-known and familiar brand and fits perfectly with our portfolio of popular franchises for all ages. After successful collaborations such as Garfield: Wild Ride and Garfield Kart Furious Racing, we are very excited to be working with ViacomCBS on these three new games.”

We don’t know anything more about the new projects, not even the intended platforms, but we’ll be learning more about them in the coming years. As we said, Garfield is featured in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, the Smash Bros. style game that features numerous animated characters, with more coming with updates. The title is quite successful, having competed at launch with other major games released in October last year.
