The Xbox CEO has big plans for the first big exclusive game around The Elder Scrolls and Fallout House.
In November this year, Xbox gamers around the world will finally be able to learn about Starfield, Bethesda’s next-gen RPG. As the platform’s first major exclusive after the acquisition of the studio, there are high expectations for Phil Spencer, who wants to make Starfield the most-played Bethesda title, and he already has plans to do so.
Given the popularity of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 10 years after its release, Spencer’s suggestion seems very difficult to fulfill, but in a recent interview, the head of Xbox detailed his idea with one keyword: accessibility.
Using the sales records achieved by Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 as an example, Spencer explained that both titles have catapulted to success due to availability, and plan exactly the same with Starfield.
Something that stood out to me when I recently interviewed Phil Spencer was his emphasis on rising player counts, which I think is key to understanding Microsoft’s strategy.
I want to share where that conversation went (warning: this will be a bunch of tweets!)

“I love the Forza 5 and Halo songs,” Spencer said. “These are the most played titles in their own franchises because we’ve made them available on every possible screen, through more business models than ever before.” In other words, Phil Spencer plans to make Starfield as accessible as possible. makes it possible for as many players as possible to enjoy and thus become Bethesda’s most played game.
Because of Starfield’s exclusivity, Bethesda producer Todd Howard mentioned it said it would make the title “better”. The game will arrive on November 11th, but in 2022 we will have more news about the project.
