Patrick Stewart has Broken His Silence on the Doctor Strange 2 Trailer: is He Really In It? [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Patrick Stewart raises doubts among many about whether he will return as Professor X in Doctor Strange 2, even though we may have heard it in the trailer.

Many Marvel fans are already celebrating: Patrick Stewart seems to be returning as Professor X, but let’s not break the champagne yet. In the recent trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we heard a very familiar voice, apparently Stewart, reshaping the role of the X-Men. Beyond that teasing, the actor’s involvement wasn’t officially confirmed, and both Stewart and Marvel restrained themselves on the explanation.

Stewart has now broken the silence about the situation in his recent conversation with Comicbook.com. The veteran actor is suggesting that he may not actually be seen in the Doctor Strange 2 trailer. He says people have been “imitating” his voice for decades, and it’s not his fault if people perceive it in a certain way, like whether he’ll be in a certain Marvel sequel. As Stewart explained:

“You know, people have been imitating my voice since I took the stage 60 years ago. So, that’s not my responsibility.”

It is possible that Stewart is telling the truth. Stewart has previously been rumored to be featured in the film, and Marvel’s marketing team may be just having a little fun with this one X professor imitator. Even so, it seems more likely that Stewart will dodge the issue to keep his rumored return as much of a surprise as possible. Let’s not forget that Andrew Garfield spent the past year denying his participation in Spider-Man: No Way Back before he finally proved the rumors true in December with the film’s premiere.

There will be many more surprises in Doctor Strange 2

Patrick Stewart’s eventual return as Professor X would be just one of the many surprises that director Sam Raimi has in store for Marvel fans in Doctor Strange’s Multiverse of Madness. There is no other officially confirmed thing, but the trailer teased the introduction of a superhero team called the Illuminati. This includes Tony Stark, and since Robert Downey Jr. has finished his role, Tom Cruise is rumored to appear in an Iron Man version.

In any case, Marvel has a lot in store for the film itself, no matter what the trailer suggests. Raimi directs the film based on a screenplay by Michael Waldron. Benedict Cumberbatch returns as title character superhero alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams. Stewart X appears as a professor in the film, but he may not, and as you can see in the trailer, he doesn’t know who else might come after the multiverse happens.

The synopsis of the film reads: “In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU dissolves the multiverse and pushes its boundaries farther than ever before. and dangerous alternative realities to confront a mysterious new adversary. ”
