Will The Witcher 4 Be Exclusive To The Epic Games Store On PC? Here Is CD Projekt RED’s Response

The new Witcher game is being developed by the Polish studio, CD Projekt RED, with Unreal Engine 5.

It’s the news of the week: the existence of The Witcher 4 is official, and the project is already in development by the team at CD Projekt RED. The most striking thing about the Polish studio’s announcement yesterday is the switch to Unreal Engine 5 and the partnership with Epic Games, details that have piqued gamers’ curiosity.

While this new technology seems like good news, especially given the graphical and performance issues with CD Projekt’s previous games, Epic’s approach over the past few years has raised questions about whether this new game will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC.

The team behind the game has been quick to clarify the deal, and in a response on the franchise’s official Twitter account, they say they don’t plan to make it exclusive to a shop. It is reassuring for those who want to have several options for buying their games, although we imagined that it would also be published on GOG, the platform and digital shop managed by CD Projekt itself.

As we await more details on this development in the future, we will probably have to wait a few more years to get a closer look at this new instalment of the universe based on the Geralt of Rivia novels. CD Projekt RED has said that they do not forget about Cyberpunk 2077 either, and it looks like they will continue to expand the Night City experience with the addition of new content.
