Heroes Of Middle-Earth: New Lord Of The Rings RPG In The Making?!

While there hasn’t been much news about the new Lord of the Rings title, we do know that Heroes of Middle-earth will be a free-to-play mobile title.

Heroes of Middle-earth is further proof that fans of The Lord of the Rings can still expect to play games that showcase the incredible world of JRR Tolkien. There’s also a lot of anticipation for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which we’ve already seen some trailers for, and the developers are promising a 2022 release. However, Middle-earth Enterprises has other projects related to our industry up to its sleeve.

The game is inspired by Middle-earth as described in Tolkien’s works, not by previous adaptations.

Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth, a free-to-play mobile game, will be announced as a collaboration between Middle-earth Enterprises and EA. As IGN initially pointed out, not many details have been released about the experience the tandem of companies is creating, but we do have a first official image.

What we do know is that Frederica Drotos, head of branding at Middle-earth Enterprises, says the game will be “solely inspired by Middle-earth as described in the literary works of JRR Tolkien.” Accordingly, it will feature “immersive storytelling, turn-based combat, a deep collecting system and a long list of characters from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.”

We look forward to more information from EA on the project, for which we don’t yet know the release window.

As we mentioned at the beginning of this article, Middle-earth Enterprises is also involved in an adventure game starring Gollum, which, although scheduled for release in 2021, has had to be pushed back to this year.
