Not Even Released Yet, MultiVersus Is Already Breaking Records!

MultiVersus is reportedly on track to pass a significant player milestone in the open beta, highlighting the game’s incredible popularity.

MultiVersus is pretty impressive: a Super Smash Bros. style fighting game concept featuring unique characters such as Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, Bugs Bunny, Batman and many more. Although Season 1 has not yet launched, it seems that the game’s open beta has been an enormous success.

PC Gamer reported statistics shared by tracker.gg that MultiVersus has had over 10.255 million unique accounts since the game’s closed beta.

The open beta has opened the floodgates for more fans to try the game, and if the stats are accurate, it seems to have been massively popular. It remains to be seen whether MultiVersus can maintain not only these impressive numbers but also attract new players, but it has a decent chance of doing so. The game will add a ranked mode, arcade, new skins and even more content when the first season launches, so this could be a big draw for fans.

Of course, another way MultiVersus attracts new players regularly is through additions to the roster. The roster is already impressively diverse, but there’s always room to add more fighters. The following fighters are Rick and Morty from the Rick and Morty cartoon series, but who will join the roster later is yet to be seen.

Player First Games has so far kept quiet about future MultiVersus DLC characters, but the leaks have potentially given fans a taste of what to expect.

If the rumours are to be believed, it seems that game fans can expect to see the debut of characters such as Gandalf, Daenerys Targaryen, Marvin the Martian, and even some original characters created specifically for the game.

Currently, the game has only one original hero, the supporting character Reindog, but leaks suggest that more are in the pipeline. Of course, the real money will be made from characters from established franchises, so it will be interesting to see if the leaks are accurate and who else will be included in the crossover brawler.

The MultiVersus open beta is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
