Mordhau Gets Console Ports [VIDEO]

Better late than never: although it’s been more than three years since the medieval multiplayer grind was released, now Sony and Microsoft will have the chance to experience it on consoles.

Triternion has announced that Mordhau, available on PC (Steam) since April 29, 2019, will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In 2017, the game was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign. While it’s true that a console port was a surprisingly late addition, at least it will happen (the Nintendo Switch was left out, but let’s not be greedy).

The Steam page says, “Mordhau is a medieval first- and third-person multiplayer slasher. Enter a hectic battlefield of up to 80 players as a mercenary in a fictional but realistic world, where you will get to experience the brutal and satisfying melee combat that will have you constantly coming back for more, from small-scale engagements to 64-player all-out war in modes such as Frontline and Invasion. Fight waves of enemies alongside your friends in the cooperative Horde mode, or practice your skills offline against AI.

Gain complete control over your character and attacks and develop your unique style. Sculpt your face, create your weapon from parts, and pick out individual pieces of armour to create the perfect warrior. Take on enemies with a greatsword, rain arrows from above, or even sit back and build fortifications. Experience cavalry charges, fight on ladders, and operate siege engines such as the catapult and ballista. Feel the impact of every blow, and send limbs flying as you wreak havoc upon your foes. (Blood and gore are optional.) Mordhau strikes a balance between gameplay and realism, where fights look believable.

The release date for Mordhau on consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One) is still unknown.
