MOVIE NEWS – Enola Holmes 2 will continue to star Millie Bobby Brown as the title character – Sherlock’s sister – while Henry Cavill returns as Sherlock.

 

 

The first poster for Netflix’s upcoming sequel, Enola Holmes 2, shows Millie Bobby Brown returning as the titular detective, Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes and Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes, among others. The poster, published courtesy of Netflix’s official Twitter account, makes the… questionable decision to hide all the main characters in a “Where’s Wally?” style crowd scene. The first Enola Holmes released back in September 2020 introduced audiences to the least known sibling of the Holmes family.

Enola Holmes is an adaptation of the crime thriller book series of the same name written by Nancy Springer, which tells the adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister Enola, who decides to become a super detective herself after the disappearance of her mother. She flees to London, where she builds a secret career as a private detective specialising in missing persons, but Enola must also prove herself to her brothers, who try to catch her and force her to live up to their expectations.

The film, directed by Harry Bradbeer from a script by Jack Thorne, stars Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown as the titular super sleuth, with Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes. Other supporting actors include Sam Claflin, Helena Bonham Carter, Louis Partridge, Burn Gorman, Adeel Akhtar, Susie Wokoma, Hattie Morahan and David Bamber. Many of them are expected to return in the forthcoming sequel.

More details about Enola Holmes 2 have already been revealed.

The sequel will once again follow the title character as he solves his first serious case of his own. “Now a detective-for-hire like her infamous brother, Enola Holmes takes on her first official case to find a missing girl, as the sparks of a dangerous conspiracy ignite a mystery that requires the help of friends – and Sherlock himself – to unravel,” reads the synopsis for the second instalment.

Enola Holmes 2 is scheduled for release on Netflix in late 2022.
