Hogwarts Legacy: Bad News For PC, Xbox & Switch Users… [VIDEO]

Hogwarts Legacy’s PlayStation-exclusive quest, The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop, will not be coming to other platforms for at least a year.

The PlayStation-exclusive quest for Hogwarts Legacy is not expected to arrive on other platforms for at least a year. The game is scheduled for release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC on February 10 next year, but one of the missions will be available only to PlayStation customers for a limited period.

This mission was initially announced at Gamescom 2022, and the developer showed it off in a new trailer at the recent State of Play presentation.

The mission is called The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop and looks like a horror game. The State of Play trailer for Hogwarts Legacy reveals that it comes with an extra dungeon, access to the in-game Hogsmeade shop and the Shopkeeper cosmetic set. This quest looks substantial and exciting enough, but fans playing on other platforms will have to wait at least a year for it.

At the end of the new Hogwarts Legacy trailer, it’s revealed that The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest will be available exclusively to PlayStation customers until February 10, 2024. This date falls precisely one year after the game’s original release, suggesting that PC and Xbox players will have to wait until then to play the Hogsmeade quest. The exact release date for the other platforms is not yet known, so it could take even longer for the mission to become available.

Sony has a reputation for providing exclusive content for its most prominent titles, enticing users to buy the PlayStation version.

A few hours ago, Activision revealed exclusive content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for PS4 and PS5 users. PlayStation buyers will have access to the complete Oni Operator Pack for Modern Warfare 2, and this offer will also last for an entire year. So fans playing on other platforms will have to wait until at least October 27 next year to get the Oni Operator. A similar case happened with the launch of Marvel’s Avengers, where Spider-Man was announced as an exclusive character for the PlayStation version of the game.

Aside from the exclusivity news, the excitement around Hogwarts Legacy is exceptionally high, as the game is only a few months away.
