Have More Sony Game Plans Been Leaked?

The leaks around Horizon (which we’ve already reported) were just the tip of the iceberg. It’s worth digging more profound than that.

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s logic is baffling: we were hoping that The Last of Us Part I would be a one-off release, but no, because rumour has it that Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn is supposedly getting a PlayStation 5 remake or remaster (if the former is accurate, we will point out that it’s a PlayStation 4 game that was released five and a half years ago…).

However, here’s a listing we’ve embedded below, which appears to be from Sony’s UK branch. The authenticity of it has been confirmed by a mostly trusted insider, Dusk Golem/AestheticGamer, on the ResetEra forum. Let’s go through the list.

Guerrilla Games is working on Horizon 2. Hence it may be an old list as Horizon Forbidden West has already been released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. DLC and “support” is already known at the rumour level, but there will be a PC port according to this list. Then, Guerrilla is doing a PlayStation 5 remaster, and there will also be a live service title, Horizon Online, for PS5 and PC. Horizon VR is also known as Guerrilla and FireSprite are making it together (Horizon Call of the Mountain).

FireSprite isn’t stopping there, though: they’re working on an Unreal Engine 5 ‘surivial horror’ (they misspelt survival horror) for PlayStation 5 and PC, codenamed Heartbreak. This project has been known via a job advertisement for about six months. The PC port’s release date for Sackboy: The Big Adventure was recently discussed, but Sumo Digital has another project: an open-world PlayStation 5 game under the codename Carbon. Destruction AllStars for PlayStation 5 from Lucid Games has been available for a while, but alongside it is another vehicular combat game, also for PS5, codenamed Redstar. Could it be the rumoured Twisted Metal reboot?

Then, the PC port of Housemarque’s Returnal is an open secret. Koei Tecmo’s Ronin is by Team Ninja and has also been announced (Rise of the Ronin), and then a PlayStation 5 open-world game using the Decima engine from Kojima Productions, codenamed Ocean. Or should we say Death Stranding 2? Then, from Ballistic Moon, a survival horror game for PlayStation 5 and PC, also using Guerrilla’s engine, Decima, codenamed Bates. We wrote about it over the summer, and the studio is backed by several veterans of Supermassive Games (Until Dawn!). Then, Sony’s London studio is also developing a games-as-a-service (GaaS) game codenamed Camden for PlayStation 5 and PC.

It’s not the complete list Sony has planned, but it looks like a significant leak. The list is not official but aligns with the rumours, except for new projects (Camden, Carbon, possibly Redstar).
