Fatshark is celebrating the 7th anniversary of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 with a major giveaway.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Fatshark’s “gleefully bloody” multiplayer massacre, has turned seven years old. The studio is now giving away the game for free to celebrate the big birthday.
From now until November 7, Vermintide 2 is completely free on Steam. Unlike previous free weekends, of which there have been a few, this one is for the game: download it now and keep it forever!
This isn’t the only Verminfreebie Fatshark is offering. The studio also announced that the Trail of Treachery DLC, which includes the first map of a two-part adventure, will be released on November 8. That’s fine, but the new adventure will also be available for free. The second act of Trail of Treachery will arrive sometime in 2023.
“In Trail of Treachery, it is up to you and your fellow heroes to escort a caravan carrying precious cargo to a village plagued by strange and unusual happenings,” Fatshark wrote on Steam. “Pave the way to Tockstadt and investigate what misfortune has befallen the settlement. Beware of avalanches.”
Fatshark’s new game, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, is essentially an adaptation of Vermintide’s gameplay for the Warhammer 40K universe.
After the beta in October, it’s no exaggeration to say that the game shows great promise. Darktide will be released on November 30. Those who pre-order will get early access from November 17, and all Vermintide 1 and 2 players will also receive the Devoted Rejects Pack cosmetic DLC.
